The Zelenci nature reserve, with the spring of the Sava Dolinka River and a nearby marsh, is accessible on foot and only a kilometre away from our hostel.  The famous naturalist sir Humprhy Davy, a frequent guest of Podkoren near Kranjska Gora, wrote the following words "There is no other more beautiful spot in Europe" and with them described all of the beauty and intact nature of the Zelenci nature reserve with numerous springs and the emerald green lake.

Tamar can be reached through the Planica valley past the giant ski jump hill, where the annual finals are held for the Ski jumping World Cup.

The pearls of the Slovene alpine world are represented by the Martuljek falls that are located 5 kilometres from the hostel. At the top of the falls, the chalet Koča Pr' Ingotu invites you to experience the preparation and the cooking of the food on the open hearth, as well as savour the typical Slovene cuisine.

At the Triglav National Park you will encounter some rare species of plants and wildlife, and listen to Ajdovska deklica (the Saracen maiden) as she tells her story of how she was turned into rock face at the rocks of Prisank.

Besides our heritage of natural beauty, the cultural heritage is rich as well. The Culture Trail in Zgornja Radovna will take you to the local homesteads, some of which are several centuries old. Through the Triglav museum collection you can learn all about mountaineering, whereas at the monument to Jakob Aljaž you can pay homage to our spiritual pastor and guide who led the way to better times.

From our hostel, you can take the road to Kranjska Gora, to a 300-year-old homestead of the Liznjek house, which houses an ethnographic museum collection and a permanent exhibition of the life and work of Josip Vandot, author of the popular children’s stories about Kekec. Kranjska Gora is always ready to welcome its guests with numerous restaurants, bars, hotels, stores, a casino, etc…

The Vitranc ski slope, the annual venue of the Alpine skiing World Cup, is only 500 metres away form the hostel; therefore, you can set out for the ski slopes on foot.

Besides a favourable location in the vicinity of three ski centres (Mokrine/Nassfeld -Austria, Trbiž/Tarvisio-Italy and Kranjska Gora-Slovenia), you will benefit from the peacefulness and the nature of a genuine Gorenjska region countryside, where you can experience unforgettable holidays.
